Open Letter:  'Gabon Shame on you!'

(November, 14)

‘’I am writing to express my disappointment and concern regarding the cooperation of the Embassy of Gabon in Yaounde.  In the first place I was very disappointed to learn about the ignorance of the staff concerning the devastating malaria situation in their own country, where today annually, 112 children die, in 1,000. I have followed the process at the Embassy. The staff has shown little understanding for the health of their own citizens.  David Robertson has a strong personal awareness towards Gabon’s most deadly disease and a deep respect for all people.  A dedicated man, who saved millions of lives of African children!
In the second place, I complain in this open letter about the rude and disrespectful Gabon Embassy employees. The woman discriminated against a man, who lost one arm and one leg, by insisting a health check!  The Embassy of Gabon should hire people that are skilled in public service, well-mannered with the respect their visitors deserve, regardless, race, religion or severe disability.
I -  as the Operational Director Africa of our aid organization -  do not except any disrespect or discrimination, neither do we bow for bribes: Gabon shame on you! ‘’
Drs. Julia E. Samuël, Operational Director Africa, Drive Against Malaria Foundation, AMSTERDAM, NL.
